The Strategic Communications Branch, part of the People and Corporate Services Division, engages with a range of audiences about the role of the ACCC and outcomes of its decisions; raises awareness of competitive and anti-competitive behaviour; provides information to Australian consumers about consumer rights, product safety issues and scams; and improves communication within the ACCC.

The Web, Library and Employee Communications Team is responsible for the ACCC websites (ACCC, Scamwatch and Product Safety) and intranet, accessibility and other online services, tools and third party platforms.

We edit and publish website content, providing expert advice on effective communication to our internal business partners.

We measure and monitor the effectiveness of our website activity and provide evaluation including insights for continuous improvement.

Key duties

The Assistant Director, Employee communications manages the ACCC’s employee communications channels and initiatives. You will be the first point of contact for employee communications projects and will provide high quality customer service and strategic advice to stakeholders in a complex and fast paced organisation. The role requires a significant degree of independence, judgement, and a nuanced understanding at the ACCC operational environment and internal culture.

You will be responsible for developing and executing the ACCC’s employee communications strategy. You will also be responsible to, under limited direction, manage end-to-end sensitive corporate communications projects and communications pieces. You will provide strategic advice and recommendations to internal stakeholders and design communications plans for internal projects.
